Alesia XO Artist Matching/Comarketing Interview
American artist Alesia XO has comarketed with fellow musician Paul Moleta. Here’s what she had to tell us about her experience:
“I think artist partnering needs to be part of my future – I think in this rapidly changing landscape, we’ll need to be open to collabing, and to sling shotting one another forward.” Alsia XO
Could you tell us a little about your music and where you are from?
I am originally from Texas, but have spent most of my life in Los Angeles, because that’s where my mama settled. I am a mutt, which is evident in my music, which is a hybrid of rock & soul, country- blues. I love it all and everything that comes out of my mouth seems to embrace it all. I started creating songs, born of emotions I couldn’t process, before I actually write and just never stopped. I started singing then as well and made my way to any church choir that would have me, starting at 5 years old. I love music. I love writing. I love singing and I love performing. It is all one big cathartic exercise and my life’s building block.
Have you previously partnered in any way with other artists? If so, could you tell us about that?
I am always partnering with other artists. I can’t create what I hear on my own. I enjoy the collaboration of other creators and am constantly in awe of the talent I get to be around. There is SOOOO much room for my growth and I guess I am lazy in that, because of other collaborators – I have never felt alone in the music world. Never felt that I HAVE to do it alone. I have a great writing partner in Steve Dole, who also performs with me. We call our partnership DoleHumphries. I have also had the opportunity to work with so many other super talented writers and players, like Leslie Barker on a song for a family film called Toby’s Big Adventure. I can’t say enough for all of the people whom I call friends that have given so much of their time and talent to me.
What inspired you to match and co-market with other youbloom artists?
I really loved the idea and opportunity to meet, to work with, to collaborate with and potentially grow with, talent I might not have otherwise met.
What do you think the future holds for artist partnering in general?
I think it needs to be part of my future – I think in this rapidly changing landscape, we’ll need to be open to collabing, and to slingshotting one another forward.
Do you have any insights or suggestions on how youbloom can improve the artist matching and comarketing experience?
No. I think you all are doing just fine without my input. LOL
