Mr. Baca began his radio journey in 1988 with Laney College, then graduating onto Cal Berkeley’s KALX radio 90.7 fm for over 4 years. The next step started with Pacifica radio network on KPFA 94.1 fm Berkeley and KPFK Los Angeles, in organizing ground breaking music programs and in-depth interviews with billboard artist, groups, activist’s and authors.
Mr. Baca hosted three community cable TV access programs, and exposed and developed new and established people and entertainers. In 1993 he began with commercial radio KMEL 106.1 fm and the Morning Zoo Crew.
For more than a decade he has been teaching radio journalism. Mr. Baca has been an instructor for the KPFA apprentice program, teaching adults radio skills and also teaching at Youth Radio of Oakland, and working with at risk teens. Just recently, he has organized field trips to the radio stations and having youth meet radio staff to learn the inside world of media.
