In the summer of 2011, Sameer moved back to Singapore to take on the position of California-based Hopeless Records’ (All Time Low, Neck Deep, Taking Back Sunday, The Used) first Southeast Asiabased Label Manager. As Label Manager, he oversees the development of the label’s artists and
brand in the region.
2012 saw him taking on a new position as Head of Digital and Marketing (Singapore and Malaysia) for Hong Kong-based music distributor Love Da Records (Mumford and Sons, Two Door Cinema Club, Metric) while holding on to his position at Hopeless Records. Sameer left Love Da in May 2014.
Ever the multi-tasker, he co-founded Secret Signals in 2012, an artist development agency focused on helping international independent artists reach and connect with audiences in Southeast Asia.
Secret Signals clients under label management are Red Bull Records, Hopeless Records and Rude Records, and have been the publicist and business development for Before You Exit (RCA) Gentle Bones (Universal), and Neonomora.
In 2014, he was named as part of I-S Magazines’ ’49 People That Make Singapore Great’. He is still baffled by this. Especially because he is actually Indian.
In March 2015, Sameer relocated to Los Angeles to join Nettwerk Music Group. He joins as Tom Gates & Ryan Chisholm’s day-to-day manager for Cher Lloyd, Mike Posner (Island), Giovanni James (WBR) and Good Old War (Nettwerk). He continues as Partner of Secret Signals as well.
