As someone who has an uncanny gift to spot and nurture talent, Loretta Muñoz has been a fixture in the music business for more than two decades. As ASCAP’s Assistant Vice President Membership Group and Special Projects, Muñoz is responsible for developing opportunities for promising new and established artists, creating and producing mentorship programs, seminars, concerts and recording projects. As a fierce advocate for songwriters, composers and artists, Muñoz has worked together with managers, record producers, film and television studios, music publishers, attorneys, and other industry insiders to launch and elevate the careers of countless creators. Prior to ASCAP, Muñoz held creative management positions at Chappell Music, Morris Music and Untied Artists Music.
She is involved in all genres of music, including pop, country, R&B, Latin, and film and television music. Her unique background has made her a sought-after speaker and advisor for numerous organizations.
Muñoz established and continues to curate all music activities at the prestigious Sundance Film Festival with the highly regarded Sundance/ASCAP Music Café which is one of the most popular draws at the Sundance Film Festival. It is dedicated to showcasing the exceptional talent and is a place where independent filmmakers can meet and interact with film composers and songwriters to encourage collaboration between these two creative communities. Muñoz does same for the Tribeca Film Festival, among many others.
