Christian James Hand has spent his entire life in service to music. From the early days in England through his current life in Los Angeles he has always found himself surrounded by it. After college he spent a few years on the road as the Token White Guy in hip-hop touring with PM Dawn and The Gravediggaz. This took him all over the word in the company of such acts as Peter Gabriel, The Stereo MC’s, Korn, Biohazard, Public Enemy, Ice Cube, and Gangstarr, to name a few. After that he spent some time in the miserable trenches of a major label until, unable to deal with it anymore, he quit to manage a live music venue in Westchester, NY. It was through that that he became involved with a local radio station and his dream of being a DJ on the radio was fulfilled. As happens that station flipped format and Christian was transferred out to the sister station in Los Angeles. After THAT station went Spanish, which ALSO happens, he was hired as the Afternoon Guy on the “Let’s Burn 43 Million Dollars In A Year” internet platform Soundbreak.com. Shockingly that went bankrupt and our hero found himself in the world of Music Video Production and worked in the Art Dept on numerous videos including the award winning “He Ya!” from Outkast. At the same time he was starting to produce records in his apt and went on to produce and co-write an album for his friends The Mowgli’s that was signed to Island Records and spawned the mid-chart smash “San Francisco”. He is now part of the Afternoon Team on 100.3 The Sound and is the curator/creator of his ground-breaking Music Breakdowns both on-the-air and live with his Swing House Sessions in Atwater Village. He also hosts a weekly new music show on The Sound called “If You Like That” where he introduces listeners to new(er) acts and songs by “pairing” them with older, familiar material. He can also occasionally be found posting his podcast Man Vs Radio on Soundcloud. He’s a busy bloke and plans on just getting busier.
