youbloomLA Directions
For your convenience, we’ve put together some detailed instructions (and maps) to use in the event you are coming from out of town and plan to use public transportation. If you are driving, there is a note regarding parking at the bottom of this email.
Before getting into details, I’d like to say that the easiest (and most accurate) way to navigate is to either use Google maps or to use LADOT’s “Trip Planner” (which ends up taking you to Google anyway). You can also download LA Mobile to any smart device and purchase your public transportation tickets right through the app.
The following directions take you to all of the venues using public transportation and traveling from south to north.
TO GET TO HAMILTON HIGH SCHOOL FOR THE SUMMIT:
*We advise that you plan to arrive at Hamilton High ONE HOUR prior to your first scheduled session. Los Angeles is known for it’s heavy traffic and it usually doesn’t disappoint.*
If you are coming from the area of any of the venues, the easiest way to get to the conference via public transportation is to find your way to Union Station. It is a hub, so there are many different ways to get there. Traveling by bus from Union Station, you will take the 733 bus towards Santa Monica. You will exit the bus at the National/Venice stop and then walk Northwest on National and then turn right on Robertson. You will see Alexander Hamilton High School on your left. Continue walking until you come to Cattaraugus Ave where you will take a left. Look for the youbloom banner and lots of music lovers 🙂 (Total trip time: 1.5 hours)
If you decide to travel by train, please refer to this map. You would need to get on the Expo Line and exit at the Culver City Stop. After existing the train, take a short walk northeast on Washington Blvd. Make a left on National, then a right on Robertson and you will see Alexander Hamilton High School on your left. Continue walking until you come to Cattaraugus Ave where you will take a left. You will see the youbloom party on your left. 🙂 (Total trip time from Station: 13 minutes)
PARKING
There is all day free parking on Cattauragus to the west of S Canfield Ave, on Bagley Ave, Oakhurst Ave, S Canfield Ave and more.
TO GET TO LA CUEVITA FROM FIVE STAR BAR/THE LEXINGTON:
Walk Northwest approx. 8 minutes to the Hill/3rd Street Station. Grab the 81 Bus north. This will drop you off at Figueroa/ Avenue 59 Station. Exit the bus and continue Northeast for approx. 1 minute. La Cuevita will be on your right. (Total trip time: 35 minutes)
TO GET TO GRIFFINS OF KINSALE FROM LA CUEVITA:
Walk Northwest on Avenue 59 and then turn left onto Marmion Way (approx. .2 miles or 5 minutes). You will come to the Highland Park Station. Take the Metro Gold Line towards Pasadena and Exit the bus at the South Pasadena Station. You will then walk two minutes Northwest to Meridian Ave. Make a left and you will quickly come to Mission Street. Here, make a right and Griffin’s will be on your right. (Total trip time: 9 minutes)
TO GET TO OLD TOWNE PUB FROM GRIFFINS OF KINSALE:
Hop back on the Gold Line north and exit at the Memorial Park station. Walk Southwest to Holly Street and turn right. After you pass N. Raymond Ave., start looking for “Tibet Nepal Galleria” on the South side of the street. (This is about 3 minutes from the station) Just next to it is a small alley that will open to a courtyard where Old Towne Pub lives. (Total trip time: 13 minutes)
